Windfarm up for debate

The public will have their chance to comment on plans for huge turbines in the North-east.

Residents objecting to a scheme to construct the five 295ft (90m) turbines at various sites in Methlick, Oldmeldrum and Inverurie will get the chance to air their views at a public hearing. The plans by Ernie Lee and John Lind sparked 147 letters of protest and 126 in support which were lodged with Aberdeenshire Council.

And councillors yesterday decided the scheme would benefit from a public meeting which could be held in June.
