Members of action groups fighting controversial wind farm developments in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion will travel to Cardiff this weekend to take part in a national anti-turbine protest.
Rhos Garn Whilgarn Action Group and the Brechfa Forest Energy Action Group will be among the community groups marching through Cardiff Bay to the Assembly’s Senedd home on Sunday.
Marchers carrying banners will call for an end to the inappropriate siting of wind farms throughout Wales.
Lynwen Evans, a member of the Rhos Garn Whilgarn Wind Farm Action Group who will be taking part, said: “It’s important to make people aware of wind farm applications around Wales.”
Caroline Evans, from Brechfa Forest Energy Action Group, added: “The aim of the march is to try and to raise awareness of the fact people do care about these things (wind farms) and that they are a concern.”
Carmarthenshire planners last month approved a proposal for 10 turbines on farmland at Alltwalis, near Pencader, while developer RES has appealed against a decision by Ceredigion Council to turn down its application to put in 10 turbines at Rhos Garn.
