Govt urged to release Dollar wind farm report
The Victorian National party says the State Government must release details of a panel report on the Dollar wind farm project, south-east of Leongatha.
The party’s spokesman for Energy and Resources, Peter Hall, says the report’s findings on the 48-turbine proposal were ignored by the Government when raised in Parliament last week.
Mr Hall is accusing the Government of avoiding the issue because the project proposal was suspended in October last year.
He says the findings still stand and the 1,500 local residents who made a submission to the panel deserve to know of its findings, should the project go ahead.
“People here have been waiting for two years now and I don’t think there’s any valid reason, nor any legal reason, why the planning panel’s report can’t be released publicly,” he said.
“I think the people in South Gippsland have been discourteously left … in the dark.”
