Company seeks community input on Lal Lal wind farm

The company planning to build a wind farm in the Lal Lal area, south of Ballarat, says it is open to community input.

West Wind Energy wants to erect up to 80 turbines in the area.

It has sent a mail out to landowners in the region, with maps of the proposed layout.

The project manager, Grant Flynn, says the feedback will form part of a revised application which should be lodged with the State Government later this year.

“And that’s the first time that we’ve had a layout of where the turbines at least might be able to go within the wind farm sites,” Mr Flynn said.

“We’re keen to see that people know with the indicative layout they can come back with some constructive advice or some constructive criticism for us as to where they might like to see some changes made in the layout, and we’ll then take those on board.”
