Prove to us that this is worthwhile

It has come to my attention that the scope of wind turbine development reaches across New York state. My concern is not whether alternative energy needs to be developed, but whether wind power as it has been proposed in New York will provide much additional power. Large development corporations, predominantly from out of state, are approaching small town boards and facilitating new comprehensive plans designed to facilitate industrial wind farm development. The process has occurred in several towns south of Rochester. Some towns have been able to deter the effort, but the poorer and those with less developed plans are vulnerable to what can only be called a railroading and corrupt effort toward turbine development. Let an ear of skepticism enter the debate; the developers’ presentations are self-serving and the science utilized appears manipulated.

I encourage the Editorial Board to further investigate the process and flow of money involved with wind turbine development. I am concerned that a potential good idea has been corrupted with greed and little actual power will be generated to our state’s electrical grid.
