Fears have been sounded that Anderby and Anderby Creek could be overwhelmed by wind farms.
Addressing a meeting of Skegness area commitee, parish councillor Carol Martin expressed alarm at the growing prospect of both onshore and offshore turbines.
“We risk being surrounded by them,” she said. “They could soon be in front of us, behind us and at the sides us.
“The impact on residents and tourism could be devastating.”
Leader of East Lindsey District Council Coun Jeremy Webb replied it was Government policy to encourage renewable energy and turbines had ‘to go somewhere’.
He continued: “I find them pleasing to the eye – fascinating and absorbing.”
Another speaker, David Quinton, protested Npower had been already given the chance to make a 90-minute presentation about the Langham wind farm proposal to members of East Lindsey planning committee – an opportunity not so far given to objectors.
Coun Webb replied there had been no breach of protocol.
“We took legal advice,” he said.
Coun Colin Davie, a vociferous opponent of onshore turbines, wanted to make a contribution to the debate, but the chairman, Coun Neil Cooper, did not allow him the opportunity.
