Residents are bracing themselves against the proposals which would turn the village into “wind turbine city”.
Community leaders said they are worried about the scale of the development.
Parish council chairman David Chappell said: “I have no idea what outcry there will be because we have problems with the existing ones.
“We were open-minded on the existing project to see which way the village went but people were against it.”
District councillor Paul Espin said he had concerns given the background of the existing turbines.
He said: “It’s an awful lot of turbines for a small, rural community.”
Jane Davis and husband Julian ““ who have endured months of sleepless nights due to noise from the eight turbines in the village ““ are outraged at plans for another 16 wind turbines.
The plan comes amid ongoing investigations into the existing units by the Department for Trade and Industry and Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Mrs Davis said: “We were absolutely devastated when we found out.
“We are gutted ““ we feel it will amplify the noise and affect a lot more people.”
Chris Carter, who chaired Deeping St Nicholas Against Wind Turbines, the group which campaigned against the previous development, believes people in the new estates on the Welland side of the village could now be affected.
He said: “We warned that if one wind farm was allowed there would be a proliferation of them.
“Once you’ve set a precedent it is difficult to fight against and it becomes wind turbine city.”
