Sixteen more wind turbines are being planned for Deeping St Nicholas.
The development at Church Farm would treble the current number to 24.
Deeping St Nicholas Parish Council will hold a special meeting at the primary school on Thursday to discuss the impact that proposals for the 120m high turbines could have on the village.
The meeting is about a “scoping report” submitted to South Holland District Council by Spanish giant Iberdrola, one of the world leaders in renewable energy, to give feedback on the impact of turbines at land owned by David and Jo Richardson.
Project engineer Mark Wisniewski said: “We are in the very early stages and if we decide to take it any further we will be giving a lot more information to the local community.
“We feel we are doing something which is good for the environment and the economy.”
Comments from the parish council on the scoping report will be considered by the district council to give its opinion on whether or not the development is appropriate.
The next stage would be an environmental impact assessment ““ an in-depth look at what effect the development would have such as increased noise or effect on birds ““ and takes up to 18 months to complete.
Mr Wisniewski said: “Wind farms can have both positive and negative impact and we try to make the negative impact as little as possible.”
Mrs Richardson said there is still a long way to go.
She said: “People might be jumping the gun a little ““ with any planning issue there is a proper consultation process to weigh up the pros and cons.
“I think it’s sensible to wait and see how things progress.”
