Turbine plan opposed

Plans to build six wind turbines at Kiln Pit Hill are being opposed by Northumberland County Council.

Although Tynedale Council will make the final decision on the application, the county council had been asked to comment on the scheme.

Council officer, David English, told members: “Recent studies have found that Kiln Pit Hill is unsuitable for wind turbine development of this scale and on this site because of the visual impact on the local landscape.”

Members agreed and supported a list of objections ““ on the grounds of significant landscape impact ““ which will now be passed on to Tynedale Council to help it make its decision.
