Babcock & Brown Renewable Holdings Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Babcock & Brown, has acquired 100% of the membership interest of four companies owned by Gamesa Energy USA LLC and Gamesa EnergÃa SA, affiliates of Madrid-headquartered wind turbine maker Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica SA.
The law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, headquartered in New York, represented the Babcock & Brown entity in the purchase. According to Milbank, the four companies included in the transaction – with a combined capacity of 231 MW – are Mendota Hills LLC, which owns an operational wind farm in Illinois, and Allegheny Ridge Wind Farm LLC, North Allegheny Wind Farm LLC and Allegheny Expansion Wind Farm LLC, which own wind farms in various stages of construction and development in Pennsylvania.
