Energy company expanding Oliver County wind farm

A Florida utility says it is expanding its
wind farm in Oliver County in west-central North Dakota.

F-P-L Energy says today it will build a 48-megawatt wind farm in
Oliver County this summer. The company hopes the turbines will be
operating by January First.

F-P-L Energy says it intends to put up 32 wind towers. Each one
will have a turbine capable of generating one-point-five megawatts.

F-P-L has already built a 50-megawatt wind farm in Oliver
County. The first project went into service in December.

F-P-L Energy is selling the electricity to Minnesota Power of
Duluth. Minnesota Power serves about 135-thousand customers in
northeastern Minnesota.
