Landscape group seeks national wind energy code

The Victorian Landscape Guardians group is again calling for a national wind energy code.

The Federal Government promised to establish the code to look at cultural and environmental issues in wind farm planning.

The Guardians’ Randell Bell says the federal environment portfolio has now changed hands.

He says he wants the new Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, to set up a task force to investigate the proposal.

“I can see him being distracted and it frightens me,” he said.

“I can see him being distracted as the new Minister, it’s a big step for him, it’s a difficult portfolio to carry, but I think he owes it to his constituents to do something.”
