EDP Energias de Portugal is targeting the US eastern seaboard, Texas and California within its project to enter the US wind power market, EPD executive director Ana Maria Fernandes said at a press conference yesterday afternoon.

Speaking after EDP’s presentation of its strategy to 2010, Fernandes said EDP is currently undertaking a study of possible greenfield investments or joint ventures in locations particularly on the eastern seaboard, Texas or California.

At its strategic presentation, EDP said it plans to invest 2.91 bln eur in renewable energies up to 2010 in order to boost its consolidated wind power capacity to 4,200 MW in 2010 from the 1.568 in 2006.
