Public hearings on wind farm continue Monday

A public hearing on a proposal to bring a 100-turbine wind farm to land between Hudson and Carlock will continue at 6 p.m. Monday.

The hearing will move from Heartland Community College to Room 400 in the Government Center, 115 E. Washington St., Bloomington.

The McLean County Zoning Board of Appeals will continue to receive testimony from witnesses called by Invenergy Wind LLC, the company proposing the project.

Supporters of the project will have the opportunity to testify after Invenergy has completed its case, then opponents will begin presenting their testimony.

The room at the government center also has been reserved for Wednesday and Thursday, but only the Zoning Board can decide to continue the hearing to another day. In addition, the room has been reserved for Jan. 29, 30 and 31.

On Thursday, Tom Hewson of Energy Ventures Analysis, Arlington, Va., will be available for questions through a conference call. A story in Friday’s paper incorrectly said the conference call would take place Monday.

Hewson testified on behalf of the opponents at Wednesday’s meeting but had to leave before everyone who wanted to ask questions had a chance.
