Councillors have again deferred a decision over whether to oppose a Galloway hills wind farm proposal.
A planning committee meeting in Dumfries agreed to pass the final verdict on the 23-turbine Blackcraig scheme to the full council.
The authority had previously decided to lodge its objections to the proposals on the grounds of its landscape impact.
However, a dozen councillors invoked special procedures to force that decision back to the committee.
It is now more than four months since Dumfries and Galloway Council first considered the plans.
Casting vote
In September a special meeting convened in Castle Douglas decided to delay considering the proposals after another application was lodged for nearby hills.
Two months later the local area committee decided to oppose the Scottish and Southern Energy scheme on a casting vote.
That was endorsed by planning councillors in December but the decision was called back in under special procedures.
Now the final verdict has been referred to a future meeting of the full council.
