Morwenstow locals are still unsure whether they will soon see wind turbines on their horizon, with the local council delaying its decision.
North Cornwall District Council deferred an application until a site visit to Crimp, Morwenstow, by the planning committee, has taken place.
The district council has received more than 400 letters of objection to the proposal for three 81-metre wind turbines. And the parish council has recommended refusal. The date for the site visit has not been set, but will be followed by a public meeting.
John Moxey, chairman of Morwenstow Against Turbines, said: “At long last, the people of this parish will be able to air their views directly to the council and voice the many objections which have been sent already to the planning department.”
A document prepared for councillors by council planners said: “Despite the attempts to provide a greater degree of objectivity into the assessment, visual and landscape impact remains an essentially subjective matter.
“Not surprisingly, opponents of the scheme, who are most numerous, are highly critical of the study and its findings.
“For this reason it is considered that a full committee site meeting should be held to hear and view the concerns first hand.”
