Resolution to oppose

The Glyncorrwg Action Group warmly welcomes the support of their AM Brian Gibbons in opposing the proposed wind farm by the Spanish-based firm Gamesa in the Upper Afan Valley.

The best present for the new year for local people would be for the developers to scrap their outrageous plans and to leave us in peace. These turbines, at 600 feet, will be the highest in Britain, and some of the highest in the world. Some turbines will be as close as half a mile from our houses.

The quickest way to affect climate change is at people’s fingertips. Where possible switch off lights, do not leave appliances on standby and turn down thermostats.

This is the way forward – not ruining our beautiful landscape with ugly, inefficient turbines in order to boost the profits of multinationals.
