Campaigners who fought a proposal to erect three wind turbines on farm land close to Okehampton had an extra reason for good cheer this Christmas.
Ray Quirke of action group ODAT (Okehampton and Dartmoor Against Turbines), formed to oppose the scheme for turbines at Yelland Farm which was thrown out at a public inquiry last month, said the developers appeared to have abandoned any hope of resurrecting the scheme. Mr Quirke said: “˜There was a possibility that West Coast Energy [the developer] could appeal to the High Court for a Judicial Review of the Appeal Decision in November. To do so, their request would have had to be lodged by December 20. “˜I have talked to the Inspectorate in Bristol, and they advised me that no such request has been received – that being so, WCE are now out of time and so cannot now take any further action.’
