Energy company West Wind is being warned against keeping residents in the dark about its plans for a big wind farm south-east of Ballarat.
The company wants to build a 70 turbine wind farm near Lal Lal at a cost of about $250 million.
Moorabool councillor Tom Sullivan says wind farm proposals often divide small communities.
He says West Wind needs to be up-front about its plans.
“From the council’s point of view, I think it’s about openness and transference, so that people – whether they agree or disagree with it – at least everybody is aware of what’s happening, because I think that’s important so there is openness in this whole process and then people know what’s happening,” he said.
