GDF invests in wind joint venture

(La Tribune Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) The French gas provider Gaz de France has finalised a partnership deal in wind energy with the construction and engineering company Maia Sonnier.

The joint venture created by the two groups, Maia Eolis, will develop and run wind farms in France and elsewhere in Europe. The company is 49 per cent controlled by GDF and 51 per cent owned by Maia Sonnier. By 2012, it expects to have installed capacity in Europe of 1,000MW, compared with 48MW today.
