A decision over whether to allow three large wind turbines to be built in the heart of the Hawker country is due to be made next week.
Campaigners have spent more than two years fighting the proposals by West Coast Energy to site three 81m wind turbines near Crimp, just outside Morwenstow.
The company said the project has community benefits and will help North Cornwall meet its renewable energy targets.
But it has met with fierce opposition. Members of MAT – Morwenstow Against Turbines – vowed to fight the proposals to the bitter end, and the group says hundreds of letters of protest have been sent to the district council.
North Cornwall District Council planners will be meeting on Wednesday to discuss the proposals.
MAT chairman, John Moxey, said Morwenstow Parish Council and Cornwall County Council have both recommended refusal of the application and, at a meeting of more than 200 residents, 92% voted to have the application rejected.
* British wind energy company Coronation Power is proposing to site up to four turbines at Wheelers Cross, just over a mile east of Bradworthy. A planning application has not yet been submitted.
