Residents have just over two weeks left to have their say on whether a controversial wind farm in Somerset should be given the go-ahead.
The company behind the plans, Ecotricity, appealed against a decision by Sedgemoor District Council to reject its plans to build five wind turbines at the Inner Farm site near Brent Knoll and Burnham.
Members of the public have until January 10 to write to the planning inspector in Bristol to object or support the appeal.
The plans were rejected unanimously at a meeting in August.
The company was then told it would have six months to appeal against the decision.
Families for Clean Energy (FORCE) supported the bid while kNOll to Wind Farm protest group launched a campaign against it.
Ecotrocity has argued: “Wind energy is a source of clean, cheap power. A single wind turbine can prevent up to 5,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere each year. Wind energy is here to stay. We need solutions to global warming problems now.”
When the bid was originally rejected, kNOll to Wind Farm said: “The location for this wind farm was inappropriate because the environmental, economic and social amenity implications would be so significant. This isn’t about global warming. It is about the suitability of the site.”
No date has yet been set for when the appeal will be reviewed and a final decision made.
