Decision to build controversial wind farm is deferred
The decision to build a controversial ten turbine wind farm in north Northumberland has been deferred for at least a month.
Berwick Borough Council’s planning committee took the decision at its meeting last night after hearing protests from local people opposed to the farm.
Your Energy wants to build turbines like these at Grindon near Berwick and the plans have been recommended for approval after a study concluded the wind farm would not have an adverse impact on the local scenery or nature. But those who oppose the wind farm say the recommendation undermines another study currently being carried out to determine how many wind farms should be allowed to be built in the area.
