Declining interest in wind power

Nearly nine out of ten wind power projects have been shelved. The critics say this is the beginning of the end of wind power in Norway.

The energy industry and the environmental organisations say this is contrary to the Government’s efforts aimed at finding alternative forms of energy.

So far, licenses have been granted for wind power project with a total production capacity of 1.5 terrawatt hours.

These would have covered the electricity needs of nearly 80,000 homes.
