More wind power woe

Well spotted Hywel Francis, Member of Parliament for the Aberavon constituency. The only thing that wind factory developers can be relied upon for is their continuing attempts to convince the people of Wales in general, and the communities of the Upper Afan Valley in particular, of the efficacy of their product.Ofgem figures show that the average yield achieved by wind generation is around 23 per cent of installed capacity. So GEUK claims of a 4.5 MW yield is impossible to be achieved. Maybe they would like to set their sights 77 per cent lower.

Readers will of course remember the extraordinary lavish hospitality afforded by Gamesa and their friends to ministers, AMs and of course Swansea city councillors on a fact finding junket to the Navarra region of Spain.

Unfortunately, soon after the visit, that region of Spain suffered a series of power failures which proved to be caused by a reliance on wind generation. Deliverance came from the neighbouring Santander region, which had totally rejected wind factory development.
