Lomond Energy’s “unique” £4 million windfarm proposal at Upper Tillyrie Farm was knocked back by planners last year.
But Steve Maken, of Lomond Energy, explained: “We spent a lot of time re-designing the layout to address the main reasons for objection last time.
“To meet these interests we have moved the turbines to slightly higher ground and reduced their heights.”
According to an environmental report, the windmills are expected to have a 27-year life from construction to decommissioning and in the end could be dismantled and leave little trace of any previous existence.
Steve Macken continued: “This local application is submitted at a time when four other Ochils projects ““ all promoted by utility or established developers ““ are at public inquiry following appeal.
“Tillyrie wind cluster is unique in terms of its size, the fact that is being developed to ensure the continued viability of Tillyrie Farm and the fact that two public exhibitions held in May and October in Milnathort demonstrated significant local support for this scheme judging from the feedback we received.
“We hope that these factors, alongside the efforts made to address previous concerns in the redesigned scheme, will earn the support of Perth and Kinross Council planners who now have an opportunity to approve their first windfarm project at a local level.”
