Turitea Reserve

The Mighty River Power is building wind turbines in the graceful Turitea bush, but this is not right for the Turitea bush to be destroyed.

Most people would agree that building wind turbines in Turitea Reserve is wrong.

We do not want to have wind turbines in the Turitea Reserve.

Furthermore, people don’t want to drive down Fitzherbert Avenue and see only wind turbines on the hills.

The council said that people building their houses are not allowed to build it over 6m high, and now the Mighty River Power is building 125m-high wind turbines in the amazing Turitea Reserve.

The Turitea’s native bush will be destroyed by twice the amount of power from the new wind turbines.

The turbines are a lot bigger and stronger; they generate more wind and it is very possible that the powerful wind turbines will destroy the Turitea’s native bush.

They will need to destroy some of the amazing bush to build a road to get all of the equipment to the places they want to build the very powerful wind turbines.

Most of the public do not want to have wind turbines in the Turitea reserve because it will destroy the Turitea bush.
