An application to build a wind farm near Yarram in South Gippsland will be heard in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
German company Synergy Wind wants to build nine turbines at Devon North, but the plans were rejected by the Wellington Shire Council at a vote last month.
Bill Barber from Synergy Wind says just two years ago, the council told the company it supported the wind farm.
“When you’ve spent the amount of dollars that Synergy Wind has spent you just don’t walk away having spent $400,000 plus on a project and say, ‘oh well, most of the councillors disagreed and went against their council officers’ recommendation’,” he said.
