A wind farm with turbines the height of Big Ben is planned for the North-east.
London-based Broadview Energy is expected to submit a proposal for up to five 300-foot (100 metre) turbines next year at Hill of Fiddes, near Foveran.
Boss Jeremy Corrigan has already met Udny, Belhelvie and Pitmedden community councils.
He said: “The meeting went well and everybody understood about what we’re doing.
“The plans are at a very early stage but we agreed to keep them informed about the procedure.”
A full environmental impact study would be carried out – including visual intrusion – before any plans are submitted.
The farmer who owns the land where the turbines would be built,
Leonard Harrison, 53, said: “They will be away from everywhere – in the middle of a field down in the valley.”
The turbines will be several miles from the site earmarked for Donald Trump’s golf course.
The American property tycoon is expected to submit his £330 million plans for Menie Links, near Balmedie, before the end of the month and hopes to open by 2008.
He bought 800 acres so he can build a resort which will include two championship courses, a five-star hotel and clubhouse.
Earlier this year the Trump Organisation warned that Mr Trump “does not wish to see wind turbines from the resort”.
A proposed offshore wind farm was moved out of sight and closer to Aberdeen after concerns in the community.
