The Irish Wind Energy Association is calling on the Government to do more to promote the construction of wind farms in Ireland.
The organisation is making the call as it prepares to host a conference on the matter in Ennistymon, Co Clare today.
Natural Resources Minister Noel Dempsey is due to address the meeting later.
The IWEA says Ireland is lagging behind other European countries when it comes to creating wind-energy infrastructure and the Government must take action to address this situation.
