A recently released report by the Pentagon recommends a closer study of the proposed Cape Wind project in Nantucket Sound to ensure turbines do not interfere with military radar systems. The report by the Department of Defense’s Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering raises concerns that a 2004 Air Force study was oversimplified and technically flawed. That report found that Cape Wind’s 130 wind turbines pose “no threat” to the Cape’s missile-detecting radar.
