Shear Wind Inc. and Vindt Resources Inc. are teaming up to develop the Coyote Ridge Wind Park project outside Lethbridge, Alta., the companies announced.
The 5,400-hectare property has a long-term predicted energy yield of about 700 gigawatts per year, designed around a wind park with 100 two-megawatt wind turbines, according to an initial project assessment prepared by Phoenix Engineering.
“We are extremely pleased with the results of this 12-month property assessment and the potential energy to be harnessed in a wind park of such magnitude,” Shear Wind president Mike Magnus said in a release.
Halifax-based Shear Wind provides wind-generated energy in the Atlantic provinces, and is trying to expand in both Canada and the United States.
Vindt Resources is an energy resource development and management company, whose core business is the exploration and development of wind energy resources.
