TOWN OF MENA-SHA – A proposed wind turbine demonstration project that has raised concerns from Northern Road neighbors remains under review.
The town’s Planning Commission on Wednesday recommended a 60-day delay on a conditional use permit requested for the project at 2225-2235 Northern Road.
Soul Purpose Ministry Inc., a nonprofit Christian ministry, plans to use the 36 wind turbines mounted on pipes, rather than towers, no higher than 120 feet as a demonstration project.
Community Development Director George Dearborn recommended the delay because applicant Kelly Roussean of Hortonville was not ready to submit plans to show the structural integrity of the design.
The permit is expected to come back to the commission Nov. 15.
