People campaigning against the development of a wind farm in Lincolnshire say they are pleased the council voted to defer the decision.
London-based Your Energy wants to build eight turbines near Gainsborough.
But West Lindsay District Council voted to delay making a decision on the Laughton development at a meeting held in Market Rasen on Wednesday night.
Reasons for this included concerns about landscape changes and potential job losses in nearby Northorpe.
But members also voiced fears over noise levels – citing new information.
Managing Director of Your Energy Richard Mardon said he was disappointed by the decision, but was confident that at some stage there would be a wind farm on the site.
