Whether they are snowed under with appeals or just showing a flair for the dramatic, An Bord Pleanala have once again deferred a decision regarding Kilbraney Wind Farm.

A decision on appeals of Wexford Co. Council’s initial decision to refuse planning permission for the proposed wind farm was due to be made last Friday, but was instead deferred for a fifth time. to this Friday (September 1).

Weom, the Dutch developers behind the project, have lodged an appeal based on the grounds on which their application was refused.

The Save Kilbraney Campaign Group and three local people, have lodged ‘third party’ appeals, claiming that the proposed wind farm should have been refused on stronger grounds.

Weom’s original planning application sought permission for a 17 turbine wind farm and affiliated buildings in the townslands of Kilbraney, Coolboy, Kayle, Ballinamona, Ballyliamgow, Bryanstown, Tinnerath and Ballygarvan.
