An Bord Pleanala have once again deferred a decision regarding a number of appeals against Wexford County Council’s decision to refuse planning permission for the proposed ‘Kilbraney Wind Farm’.
A decision was due on Monday, but has now been deferred until Friday next (August 25) due to An Bord Pleanala’s workload.
The decision was originally due on June 27, but has since been deferred a number of times.
A spokesperson for the Save Kilbraney Campaign Group said ‘it has been difficult for us on the committee and the local community as this proposal is literally looming large over us all for the past 18 months’.
Weom, the Dutch developers behind the project, have lodged an appeal based on the grounds on which their application was refused.
The Save Kilbraney Campaign Group and three local people, have lodged ‘third paty’ appeals, claiming that the proposed wind farm should have been refused on stronger grounds.
Weom’s original planning application sought permission for a 17 turbine wind farm and affiliated buildings in thme townslands of Kilbraney, Coolboy, Kayle, Ballinamona, Ballyliamgow, Bryanstown, Tinnerath and Ballygarvan.
