Federal Environment Minister Ian Campbell is considering a national approach to deal with wind farm developments.

Senator Campbell is in South Gippsland in Victoria, today talking to locals about wind farms.

He stopped the development of the Bald Hills wind farm near Wilsons Promontory, but reversed his decision after a court challenge by the proponents.

The Victorian Government is still considering plans for a wind farm at Dollar, near Leongatha.

Senator Campbell says he will try to establish a nationwide process to deal with wind farm proposals.

“The Labor Party across Australia is riding roughshod over communities,” he said.

“I’m very keen to bring in a national wind code that insures that communities are guaranteed a say in these major industrial-sized installations around our beautiful countryside.”
