CET to help towns with renewable energy projects

The towns can use the matching funds to help with a renewable energy project. Currently this program is only available to communities served by Massachusetts Electric Company, now called National Grid.

The Center for Ecological Technology (CETsm) is holding an informational meeting on December 1st at 4 p.m. at the Town Hall in Great Barrington to describe the Clean Energy Choice program and to help communities develop strategies to make a renewable energy project happen. The meeting will be on the 2nd floor.

The focus of the meeting is to describe the Clean Energy Choice program, how other towns have used the funds, the types of eligible projects, how much money towns have already earned and how towns can increase the funds in order to bring more renewable energy to the Berkshires.

CET will also describe how their organization can help communities with this effort. For more information about the meeting, contact Raya Ariella, 413-445-4556 ext 17 or email her at: raya@cetonline.org.

CET is a non-profit community organization serving western Massachusetts. Founded in 1976, CET works in the areas of energy and resource conservation, renewable energy and environmental education. CET is funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
