Eon Netz manages the transmission grid in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, about a third of Germany, hosting just less than half of Germany’s thousands of megawatts of installed wind capacity. Their experience should be sobering to any enthusiast. For excerpts, see AWEO.org [1].
