Reliability Data Field Study in the Reliawind Project

Wilkinson, Michael

From the European Community–funded “Reliawind” [1] project, data from 290 turbines and 240 windfarm-months.

Slides from presentation, June 18, 2009, at Sandia National Laboratory’s 2009 Wind Turbine Reliability Workshop, Albuquerque, N.M. (click images for full size). Click here for linked program of entire 2009 Wind Turbine Reliability Workshop. [2]

[Note:  Divide the annual failure frequency into 1 to get the length of time in which a failure is likely to occur. For example, an electrical failure is likely to occur within less than 2 years, rotor blades likely to fail within 4 years, gearbox within 8 years.]
