Lincoln Noise Study

After receiving several complaints from residents, Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) undertook a noise measurement program which demonstrated that allowing wind turbines to create 50 decibels of noise near homes in rural settings is not acceptable. Because the law in Lincoln Township permits this level, the residents there have no legal recourse, even though the local wind project’s noise levels are often well above pre-existing ambient levels.
