Green Energy Blue

Lucas, Bob

A rousing song by Bob Lucas of Ohio. Go to his web site (www.boblucasmusic.com [1]) and thank him for allowing free distribution of this song (consider buying one of his albums – he will also donate 20% to NWW). (And thanks to Calvin Luther Martin and Nina Pierpont [2] of Malone, N.Y., for initially making this file available.)

Green Energy Blue

A man come to see me acted like a friend
He was talking green power had money in his hand
Wanted to put a turbine right here on my land
I said what part of beautiful is it you don’t understand

Wake up people have you heard the news
Woke up this morning green energy blue

Carpetbaggers and scallywags with teeth like pearls
Sneaking round here waving all the money in the world
It’s no problem for them though they are sorry I am sure
It’s an honest living killing something simple and pure

50,000 turbines 50,000 more
Before you know it can’t get out your door
We’ll pay the mortgage on them for sure
Then we’ll have them and still be green energy poor

Who sent them down here who do I have to thank
Enron, Halliburton or Chase Manhattan Bank
These people already own a giant piece of the pie
Excuse me while I kiss the sky goodbye

We can fly around the world put a man on the moon
Spend millions on a war in a single afternoon
We can pinpoint a perpetrator blow him up on the TV screen
Isn’t there some way of making energy that is not so huge and obscene
