What empirical research has established about wind farm visual impact
The substantial body of empirical research now available on wind farm visual impact (VI), from very credible and impartial teams, shows a consistent and essentially linear relationship between turbine height, distance and wind farm VI. For any degree of VI (such as the zone of visual influence, or threshold for visual dominance), if turbine height is doubled, the distance threshold for that degree of impact also typically doubles. The research based distances for thresholds for key levels of VI are . . . Complete article »

Overwhelming Grounds for Rejecting Requested Modification 2 for Proposed Capital II Wind Farm
The request to modify the Capital II wind farm by increasing rotor blade length should be rejected on at least three grounds: noise impact; visual impact; and impact on avifauna. The proposal is misleading and/or totally inadequate in its advice about the effect of the proposal on each of those aspects. Fatal defects in Liverpool Range wind farm environmental assessment
The proposed Liverpool Range wind farm should be rejected on strategic grounds and because of fatal defects in multiple essential parts of the environmental assessment. Either of these alone is sufficient to reject the proposal. In combination they are overwhelming grounds for rejection. Gross Defects in NHMRC Review into Wind Farms and Human Health
Executive Summary. The conduct of the NHMRC review into Wind Farms and Human Health has not complied with the terms of reference given to the Wind Farms and Human Health Reference Group. Beyond that, the review is riddled with critical flaws and inconsistencies in the selection of evidence upon which it draws and in the analysis conducted. While no doubt unintentional, this has created a massive, systematic bias in the results reported from the review. The flaws that plague the . . . Complete article »
