Working group to investigate wind turbine excess amplitude modulation noise
30 Oct 2014 We are pleased to announce the formation of an Independent Noise Working Group to investigate wind turbine Excess Amplitude Modulation noise. Ask anyone living close to a wind farm about the noises it makes. Many will tell you that the most annoying is a ‘swish/thump’ from the turbine blades that frequently occurs at night. It isn’t its loudness that upsets – for this they should have protection through the normal planning process – but its recurrent, sleep . . .

WEST DORSET WIND FARM PLANNING APPLICATION WD/D/14/000885 20 June 2014 Planning permission is being sought for what would be Dorset’s largest wind farm. Proposed for a site in West Dorset, in open unspoilt countryside just north of Tolpuddle, it would comprise five 115 metre (377 feet) high industrial-scale turbines. The Wurzels announce release of new single: “The Mendip Windfarm Song”
“The Mendip Windfarm Song” is aimed at highlighting the proliferation of proposals for wind turbines across the West Country and furthermore the entire UK, disregarding the views of the local communities they are imposed upon. The song was penned after hearing of a proposed 66m turbine in the quiet village of Laverton, near Norton St Philip where the band’s HQ is based and news of the song has led to huge support for its release. Protest Against Scottish Wind Policy
SNP Annual Conference, Perth, Saturday 19th October The Scottish Borders Network joined by South of Scotland groups will be hosting this year’s anti-wind turbine protest in Perth on Saturday October 19th. Supported by Scotland Against Spin and campaigners from across Scotland, the protest will highlight the particular plight of the country south of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
