Stop destruction of Tundra Swan migration habitat by wind turbines

Every March 10,000-15,000 Tundra Swans migrate from the eastern USA seaboard to the Arctic tundra of Canada and Alaska. On their epic 6,500-kilometer migration the swans stop to rest and feed on the Thedford Bog and environs near Grand Bend on Lake Huron. The Thedford Bog area is a unique habitat ideally suited specifically for the migrating Tundra Swans, with its wide expanse of flat fields that feature large areas of ice, water and snow in March, providing safety and . . .

WIND RUSH: A Look at the Wind Turbine Controversy

On CBC TV’s Doc Zone, Thursday, February 7, 9PM and (CBC News Network) Saturday, February 9, 11PM [See video clips below.] Driving by a wind farm, looking at the rural houses, it’s easy to be skeptical about the talk of wind turbines making people sick. We’re told that wind turbines are good and green. So how could those people living by them have an issue? But there is a problem – and it’s there because some governments and wind companies didn’t . . .

    Wind Victims Ontario

windvictimsontario.com Ontario has a new website for families who are facing the impacts of modern wind energy projects. Industrial wind turbines are being built too close to thousands of existing homes and businesses in Ontario. The Provincial Government’s failure to conduct adequate health studies has resulted in countless reports of serious difficulty for families, their pets and livestock. In some cases it has destroyed people’s health and their livelihoods. Wind Victims Ontario will help to tell their story. A lack . . .

    Support a Wind Turbine Moratorium

FIT subsidies for wind are helping drive the cost of power up in Ontario. In January, Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore said wind turbines destroy more jobs than they create and lead to higher energy prices. The Auditor General of Ontario reported in December 2011 that billions of dollars of new wind and solar projects were approved “without many of the usual planning, regulatory, and oversight processes.” We are forced to buy intermittent wind power before other sources of energy, and . . .

Dirty Business: the reality behind Ontario’s rush to wind power

Book to be released September 12, 2011 Ontario’s government has looked to “renewable” sources of energy such as wind and solar to create jobs in the wake of the failure of the auto sector. But at what price? Wind power generation is now being seen around the world as an expensive boondoggle, in which money is spent by the billions to create an unreliable, inefficient and expensive source of power. What is the situation in Ontario? Why didn’t the lessons . . .
