Wind energy development on United States Forest Service land in Readsboro and Searsburg is mountaintop quarrying.

The Green Mountain National Forest got a new superhighway for trucks carrying loads of more than 200,000 pounds to elevations above 3000 feet. The bears got a new bridge.
