Besat af vind (Possessed by wind)

Source:  Hjorth Skeel, Peter | Denmark, Impacts, Publications

Clean electricity from industrial wind power has a sinister dark side

Troubling noise that can be heard through the sound of the TV. Annoying shadows that sweep over the landscape and through the windows into the rooms of your house. Rotating movement in the landscape wherever you look. Flashing red or white warning lights in the night sky.

A willful wind industry playing on the fear of global warming, climate change, and nuclear power. Without paying any serious regard to neighbors whose lives are shattered. The negative impacts on nature and people bear no proportion to the production of electricity. Meanwhile, politicians turn both a blind eye and a deaf ear to the many who suffer reduced quality of life because of the wind industry.

Author and journalist Peter Hjorth Skeel has brought considerable energy to his book, which should be required reading for all decision-makers regarding wind power. It is useful reading for all who are or will be affected by their decisions. Possessed by wind puts into words the frustration and worries many of us have when faced with industrial land-based wind power.
