Demonstration in Paris against wind turbines

This is a call to come demonstrate in Paris on Saturday, October 6.

You saw the first wind turbines forced on the French countryside. You were interested, you told yourself that France is using renewable energy and contributing to the worldwide fight against global warming.

In fact, those turbines are the first in a gigantic program: 10,000 machines, much higher that those you’ve seen, have been declared in France for the coming 8 years. Spread over thousands of kilometers, visible from millions of hectares. From the Côte d’opale to Cap corse, from the Atlantic coast to the Jura ridgelines, from the groves of Normandy to Cathar country, from Lorraine to Gers, the sources of the Loire, the hills of Cantal – not one of our regions, not one of our landscapes, famous or humble, does not risk being dominated day and night by the same turning machines, to a greater extent than all that man has ever been able to build.

This program is an economic aberration. The electricity is much more expensive than that produced in excess by central nuclear and thermal plants.$nbsp;…

It is also an ecological imposter: the savings of greenhouse gases is derisive. It has even been affirmed that for the powerplant emissions decided by the Villepin government to justify the leap to producing wind energy, the balance is negative! Denmark, wind turbine champion, as the worst CO2 balance in Europe – they have halted their program.

Finally, it is a financial scandal. Electricité de France (EDF) is required to pay wind energy promoters double the price for their electricity. Assured of these enormous benefits, promoters multiply their plants to total saturation. The pay for the impact studies, and it is easy for them to find landowners and small communities to bribe. There is no planning; they won’t be responsible. Today, nothing will stop the inevitable catastrophe, except$nbsp;…

Except if the government listens to us.

If you love the countryside and natural landscapes, if you live in one of the beautiful regions of France, or if you are simply attached to them, come demonstrate your solidarity with all of the villages threatened by wind turbines.

The decision that we will demand on October 6 is simple: Cancel the requirement for EDF to buy wind energy. But all of the financial interests who profit are opposed to that. They have succeeded in ousting groups who defend our patrimony and landscape from the “Grenelle de l’environnement” which will direct the ecology politics of France.

It will be decided this fall. You are concerned, before it is not too late. Come, make your family come.

Saturday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m., in front of the Ecology Ministry, 20 avenue de Ségur, Paris 7ème.

Métro: École militaire (8), St François-Xavier (13), or Ségur (10)
