These videos were made by Phil Bloomstein of Freedom, Maine, who has made them available via You Tube. His house is 1,000 feet from one of the three turbines there. As the town repealed an ordinance limiting turbine noise to 45 decibels (dB) at nearby residences, they were assured that the noise would never top 45 dB except on at most eight days a year. With the turbines operational just a few weeks, it has become clear that when the wind is blowing, the typical noise at the house is above 50 dB, a very high level in a rural location, especially at night.
