Energy firms EDF Energy and Ecotricity have applied for planning permission from Sedgemoor District Council to build the turbines.

Ecotricity said the wind turbines would have little environmental impact.

The development will be on land close to the villages of Bradwell and Tillingham where local residents have formed a campaign group.
They are to seek a High Court judicial review of the planning inspector’s decision to approve the project.
Developers RWE Npower Renewables said the campaigners’ challenge was a disappointment but not a surprise.
